Spring has Sprung

The snow has melted. We are back from our winter hiatus. We intend to have as much fun this year as we did last year. Come help us achieve our minimum yearly requirement of fun.

What's Happening in Lincoln County

The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce maintains a schedule of local area events on their website. We at the Wortley will be happy to see you any time, busy or not. We sometimes have rooms available during the busier weekends, when the rooms in Ruidoso get booked up.

Lincoln County War Symposium

A symposium on the Lincoln County War is being held Saturday September 29, 2007. It starts at 8:30AM and runs till 5:00PM. The price of admission is $25 at the door. The symposium is being sponsored by the Lincoln County Historical Society and the Hubbard Museum of the American West. The $25 admission includes a tour of Lincoln on Sunday, guided by Drew Gomber. Fire Up Your Harley

Motorcycles will be converging on Lincoln County September 12th through 16th, 2007 for the 38th annual Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally. The September air is crisp and it is a perfect time to cruise to historic Lincoln.

Fire Up Your Chuck Wagon

Chuck wagons will be converging on Lincoln County October 12th through 14th, 2007 for the 18th annual Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. There will be cowboy cooking, concerts and more.

Knocking on Heaven's Door

Billy the Kid will have J. W. and Bob (Ollinger, not Dylan) "Knocking on Heaven's Door" daily, August 3rd through 5th, 2007. It is time for our annual "Old Lincoln Days" pageant. The reenactment of the "Last Escape of Billy the Kid" will be at 8:30PM Friday and Saturday and 3:00PM Sunday. Eddy Harrison will be singing his own special brand of cowboy music at 7:00PM Friday and Saturday and at 1:30PM on Sunday. Our grand parade will be making it's way down the main street at 11:00AM on Sunday. The museums, exhibits and living history groups will be going on all day every day, so come early and stay late.
